Game team planner

Pokémon Team Planner

Plan a winning party before you even start the game. Select any mainline Pokemon game, build a team of six from its full dex, and check your type coverage as you go.

Based on the open-source Pokemon Team Planner by richi3f (MIT). Pokemon renders extracted from Pokemon HOME.

How the team planner works.

Step 01

Pick your game

Choose from every mainline release, from Red and Blue all the way to Legends Z-A, plus Pokemon HOME. The dex updates to match.

Step 02

Build your six

Click Pokemon to add them to your party. Filter by type, version exclusives, legendary status, color, shape and more to find exactly what you need.

Step 03

Review the analysis

Team Defense and Coverage tallies reveal weaknesses and gaps at a glance. Hover a mark to see which Pokemon stands behind it.

Every game. Every form.

This Pokemon team planner keeps the full depth of an in-game run: version exclusives, regional dexes, transfer-only rosters and every battle-relevant form. Plan a Nuzlocke route, a gym-by-gym progression, or a competitive core — then share the URL.

22 games, one planner

Red & Blue through Legends Z-A, side games like Colosseum and XD, Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, and Pokemon HOME.

Shiny, gender & Tera toggles

Preview shiny renders, flip gendered forms, and set Tera types in Scarlet, Violet and HOME — including fixed Tera types for Ogerpon.

Gigantamax forms

In Sword & Shield and HOME, Gigantamax-capable Pokemon get their own selectable entries with dedicated renders.

Powerful dex filters

Search by name, then narrow by type, excluded type, evolution stage, generation, game version, rarity tag, color, experience group, body shape and HM compatibility.

Randomize Team

Out of ideas? Roll a full six-Pokemon team from your current filter results and challenge yourself.

Shareable teams

Your team is saved in the page URL. Copy the link and send your planned party to a friend — it reopens exactly as you left it.

Pokemon Team Planner FAQ

Are all Pokemon forms included?

Almost every form is included. Some cosmetic and transient forms are hidden unless you enable the "Misc. Forms" filter. Forms of a handful of Pokemon (such as Pikachu, Genesect, Xerneas and Mimikyu) are not shown because they change little beyond appearance.

What are "Misc. Forms"?

An unofficial category covering most cosmetic forms (Vivillon patterns, Furfrou trims), forms of Arceus and Silvally, and battle-only forms like Ash-Greninja. They are hidden by default to keep the dex uncluttered.

How is the team analysis calculated?

Only typing is used to compute weaknesses, resistances and coverage — abilities such as Levitate or Wonder Guard are not factored in. Coverage assumes each Pokemon can deal super-effective damage of its own types (STAB), regardless of its actual movepool.

Why are some gender differences not toggable?

For Pokemon like Meowstic, Indeedee and Basculegion, gender is more than cosmetic — the forms have different stats and movepools, so they are treated as distinct Pokemon rather than a toggle.
